Job Summary John Zink, a Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) company, is hiring a Field Service Technician for the Fired Equipment Group to support the refining and petrochemical industries.

What You Will Do

Supervise installations, troubleshoot issues, and provide maintenance recommendations to customers.

Apply operational and functional knowledge of register burners, duct burners, and utility burners while demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn complex mechanical systems.

Communicate with PLCs, PLC logic, and HMIs, and possess rudimentary electrical design and wiring skills.

Travel regularly to customer sites (approximately 75% of time). Travel required.

Basic Qualifications

Experience with register burners, duct burners, or utility burners.

PLC experience and programming for combustion equipment.

Ability to travel 75% of time to job sites.

Obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) within 6 weeks of employment.

Valid driver’s license.

Residency within 50 miles of a major airport.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs routinely; bend, stoop, crawl, and maneuver around skidded equipment and piping.

Hear distinct sounds and see colors across the spectrum at close and distant range.

Work in an outdoor environment with long workdays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

2‑year technical degree from an accredited college or 4 years of military service working with boilers.

Experience with John Zink, Coen, TODD, Peabody brand burners, duct burners, or utility burners.

Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs in combustion or steam generation industries.

Field work experience in petrochemical, power generation, pulp & paper, or food processing industries.

Compensation Hourly rate: $40–$55, with variable pay as a bonus or other monetary form.

Not eligible for VISA sponsorship.
