The primary function of the Wiring Assembler is to provide a variety of electronic and mechanical assembly tasks, eager to learn and grow as a versatile assembler. You will be using general tools such as soldering irons, cutters, wrenches, luggers, component bending tools, power tools and screwdrivers, vacuum equipment, heat guns, tie wrap guns, crimpers, crimping machines and possibly others. (Required to provide own/personal tools)
Schedule: M-F 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (some extended hours may be required from time to time) and some Saturdays. Hourly, non-exempt.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of diverse electronic or mechanical production assembly tasks meeting a consistent level of high skill, knowledge and versatility while meeting high quality expectations
Solder, assemble, route and secure wiring/cables into subassemblies such as panels and cabinets
Work with hand tools and specialty tools as required
Perform rework resulting from drawing change notices
Cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant
Develop working knowledge of the production environment
Comply with manufacturing code of conduct
Prioritize safety, quality, accuracy, and reliability of work performed
Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
Report to management any quality problems or defects for corrective action to avoid recurrence
Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet business needs
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years related wiring assembly experience
Experience with electromechanical panel wiring, cabinet wiring, PLCs onto panel enclosures, wire routing
Ability to use and operate various computer systems and software (retrieving work instructions or manufacturing modules in ERP system)
Ability to follow technical drawings and assembly instructions to assemble cables to manufacturing and industry specifications
Competencies Required
Must be work driven and goal-oriented
Must work well with others and follow given instructions
Ability to gain the trust and respect of others
Desired Qualifications
3-4 years wiring assembly experience
Familiarity with IPC 610 & 620 or J-Standards-001 certification
Awareness of Lean Sigma processes
Working Conditions This position works in a production environment with the risk of injury, so safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting and pushing up to 100 pounds (with assistance) is required.
