Pay:
$30.00 – $40.00/hour DOE
Shift:
Full-Time – 1st Shift (overtime available)
Location:
On-site – Dallas, TX
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Heavy Equipment Mechanic
to support a large‑scale materials and recycling operation. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment. The role requires strong hands‑on skills in hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting, with a focus on keeping operations running smoothly and safely.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, haul trucks, and skid steers.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate service records and parts usage documentation.
Operate diagnostic tools and interpret technical manuals to support repair work.
Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
Education & Experience Requirements
Technical certification in diesel/heavy equipment repair; equivalent experience considered.
2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or diesel technician required.
Proficiency in hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting.
Experience with multiple OEMs and diagnostic platforms a plus.
Must provide your own tools (specialty tools provided).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong hands‑on mechanical skills and technical troubleshooting ability.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals.
Reliable, safety‑focused, and detail‑oriented.
Capable of working independently and within a team environment.
Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor/industrial settings.
