HiFyve is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the materials & recycling industry in Dallas, TX!

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00/hour DOE

Shift: Full-Time - 1st Shift (overtime available)

Location: On-site - Dallas, TX

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support a large-scale materials and recycling operation. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment. The role requires strong hands-on skills in hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting, with a focus on keeping operations running smoothly and safely.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, haul trucks, and skid steers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service records and parts usage documentation.
  • Operate diagnostic tools and interpret technical manuals to support repair work.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Technical certification in diesel/heavy equipment repair preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or diesel technician required.
  • Proficiency in hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with multiple OEMs and diagnostic platforms a plus.
  • Must provide your own tools (specialty tools provided).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong hands-on mechanical skills and technical troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals.
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Capable of working independently and within a team environment.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor/industrial settings.
