Responsibilities include: Create forms used to build precast concrete sections (e.g. walls, beams, columns, stairs, etc.) Install rebar, plates, mesh, and foam insulation Form concrete using screed boards, vibrators, and trowels Use hand tools, and power tools (drills, saws, tie guns, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Include: Ability to read tape measure, and blue prints Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to operate machinery safely Ability to work overtime when required Physical Requirements: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection Typical industrial hazard varying climates, dust, noise and moving machinery. A batch plant operator is responsible for
overseeing the operation of a concrete mixing plant, ensuring the production of high-quality concrete by accurately weighing and combining ingredients like cement, sand, aggregate, and water according to specified mix designs, while maintaining proper equipment function and performing routine maintenance checks to guarantee consistent production and quality control . Key responsibilities of a batch plant operator include: Operating the batching system:
Managing the computer-controlled system to accurately weigh and dispense ingredients into the mixer based on customer orders and mix designs. Quality control:
Regularly testing concrete samples to verify slump and other quality parameters meet specifications. Maintaining equipment:
Performing routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs on the batch plant machinery, including conveyors, feeders, and mixers. Inventory management:
Monitoring raw material levels in storage bins and coordinating deliveries to maintain adequate supplies. Recordkeeping:
Documenting production data, including batch numbers, mix designs, and quality control results. Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving operational issues that may affect concrete quality or production efficiency. Safety compliance:
Adhering to safety procedures and ensuring the batch plant operates in a safe manner. Required skills and qualifications:
