It is the operator’s responsibility to ensure all produced concrete meets required specifications. Position Description: The operator handles setup, teardown, operation, maintenance, and record keeping of portable concrete batch plants. They assist with daily plant activities such as scheduling truck drivers and ordering materials. Operates the plant to batch materials used in highway and bridge construction, managing controls to heat, dry, weigh, and mix aggregate, cement, and water. May require machinery repair skills using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Responsibilities include: Calibrate batch plant daily Refill aggregate hoppers and cement silo as needed Maintain cleanliness around the plant Maintain equipment (greasing bearings, replacing conveyor belts) Operate mixer trucks, discharge concrete, and perform routine maintenance and cleaning. Conduct quality control tests, record keeping, and understand admixtures and their capabilities. Position Requirements: Minimum 5 years of concrete batching experience or related technical training Thorough knowledge of batching technology, equipment, and safety Excellent communication and organizational skills Preferred: ACI concrete testing certifications Willing to work 80+ hours during summer, including nights and weekends We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on protected characteristics.
