Overview
Entry Level Chemical Process Engineer - Summer 2026 at Jacobs. Roles may be based in Greenville, SC; Appleton, WI; or Pittsburgh, PA. You will join a multidisciplinary team on projects that bring innovative solutions to clients locally and worldwide. This is an opportunity to participate in a variety of engineering tasks, including developing process designs and assisting with the creation of PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications. Base pay range
$58,656.00/yr - $85,900.00/yr Responsibilities
Assist with the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications. Ensure design and construction conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements. Develop flow diagrams and perform sizing calculations for pipe and equipment under guidance from professional engineers and senior technical staff. Contribute to project work using software tools such as PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam, and SmartPlant. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver complete and accurate work products on schedule. Progress from basic design tasks to more complex projects while maintaining high standards of quality. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Basic understanding of process design principles and standards. Internship or comparable relevant experience. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship (sponsorship not available for this role now or in the future). Preferred qualifications
Experience developing PFDs and P&IDs. Knowledge of ASPEN, PipeFlo (Professional and Compressible), AFT Fathom, HTRI, WinGems, and SmartPlant. Exposure to manufacturing processes, process engineering, and design activities. Engineer In Training (EIT) certification or on track to obtain. Willingness to travel occasionally for project site visits or client meetings. Benefits and policies
