Sr. Maintenance Tech - PLC Days, Mon thru Fri Job Summary:

The Sr. Maintenance Technician-PLC ensures equipment uptime through timely, in-depth electrical troubleshooting of 480VAC & 24VDC components. It has strong working knowledge of all operating systems in the plant including Allen Bradley (AB), B&R automation, Siemens, and Zenon. Acts as a subject matter expert on frequency drives, HMI, plant operating systems, and data collection/system backups. Performs troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment and general electrical maintenance of the building and grounds. Works with Maintenance Technicians, machine Operators, Supervisors and Managers to resolve electrical and mechanical issues. Develops and implements best practices aligned with Niagara's maintenance strategies. Through preventative and predictive maintenance processes, champions continuous improvement and assists with training in focus areas. Essential Functions

Adhere to and enforce highest standards in safety and good manufacturing practices plant-wide Train and lead Operators, Mechanics and Supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging Collaborate with plant leadership to develop and execute projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and resolution of recurring problems Rapid identification of machine problems to minimize downtime with root cause analysis to prevent recurrence Partner with other Sr. Maintenance Technicians to resolve cross-functional problems Use available software systems to analyze and identify issues to drive throughput Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment to like-new status during planned downtime Transfer knowledge to Niagara team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures in bottling production: Blow molding, PET processing, machine setup, mold changes, quality inspection systems Filling/capping, beverage processing methods, cap feeding systems with light closures, vision inspections, laser date coders, quality/sanitation standards, conveyors Labeling technology, roll-fed and/or cut-and-stack, machine setup, hot melt gluing, conveyors Dry-end packaging including case packers, case conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers; machine setup for all pack sizes Common OEMs for production equipment: Krones, Sidel, KHS, Sacmi, Tech Long Transfer knowledge to Niagara team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures for injection technology: Husky injection molding machines (hydraulic, pneumatic, electromechanical) Auxiliary systems including resin handling/blending, drying, dehumidification, vision inspection, conveying, cooling Mold systems, hot runner/cold half maintenance, wear troubleshooting through product inspection Plastic processing at high speeds with tight tolerances and acceptable acetaldehyde (AA) levels Create SOPs for troubleshooting machines and upload them to the BDA system Attend and be on-call as required to ensure equipment and facility uptime Stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment Lift up to 50 lbs Note: This job description is not comprehensive and duties may change at any time Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 6 years - Experience in an electrical maintenance environment 6 years - Experience in the position 4 years - Experience managing people/projects Experience notes:

may include a combination of work experience and education Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross-functional teams Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical and instrumentation diagrams Familiarity with basic hand tools, multimeter, and PLC hardware (I/O modules, communication modules, CPUs, safety relays) Knowledgeable in RSLogix 5000, SIMATIC Step 7, and Factory Talk Studio Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer in automation and electrical areas Skilled in repairing VFDs, servomotors and controllers, communication systems (ASi, CAN-bus, PROFIBUS, ethernet), PLC I/O cards, safety modules Strong cross-department communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Own toolbox and basic tools Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years - Experience in electrical maintenance 10+ years - Experience in the position 6 years - Experience managing people/projects Other qualifications: 4 years of troubleshooting experience with one of: Allen Bradley (AB), B&R, or Siemens Experience in electro-mechanical roles with packaging/bottling equipment 1 year of leading and developing others on equipment functionality and repair 2 years of creating process improvements or continuous improvement initiatives Layout and installation of electrical and communication lines Working with 480VAC & 24VDC power Ability to read and interpret process & instrumentation diagrams Proficiency troubleshooting AB, B&R, or Siemens automation systems RSLogix 5000, SIMATIC Step 7, Factory Talk Studio Knowledge of COPA-Data Zenon, SEW Motion Studios, and/or B&R Automation Studio Competencies
