Overview

Construction Inspector role at HDR. HDR is an employee-owned company focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The inspector will work as part of the Florida CEI (Construction Engineering and Inspection) program on FDOT projects in the Miami area, including milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork operations, stripping operations, and final estimate preparation. The position offers upward mobility within a fast-growing program and long-term employment. This role will interact daily with FDOT Project Administrators and other FDOT personnel. Responsibilities

Independently perform construction inspection on FDOT projects in Florida, primarily in the Miami area. Monitor and document field activities such as milling, resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork, and stripping operations. Prepare final estimates and interface with project stakeholders to support project delivery. Collaborate with FDOT personnel to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements. Preferred Qualifications

Position will include some night, holiday, and weekend work; candidates must be willing to work as-needed on these occasions Technical School or Associate's Degree Minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection Local candidates preferred Industry certifications (strongly preferred) include:

CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1 CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels I CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I CTQP Final Estimates Level I FDOT Intermediate MOT Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges) CTQP Pile Driving Inspection CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years experience Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Drug screening prior to hire; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing Commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture What We Believe
