Civil Engineer

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consulting firm that provides engineering, system planning, studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing, and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials across the U.S. The firm tackles projects with system voltages ranging from 4.16 kV to 765 kV.
Responsibilities
Structural engineering: develop design criteria and perform structure, foundation, and building design. Design typical rectangular steel structures and tubular steel structures, specify fire walls, and related facilities. Foundation design includes drilled piers, shallow/pad, and spread footing foundations. Apply design software such as Visual Analysis, STAAD.Pro, Risa, LPILE, MFAD, and CAISSON.
Site (civil) engineering: develop design criteria; grading and drainage design; access road design for paved and unpaved sections, including haul‑road analysis. Design retaining walls, perimeter walls, fences, gates, water storm drainage, and specify hydrology studies. Preferred experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.
Project management functions (depending on experience): scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, team leadership, project monitoring and control, client interface, and project reporting.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment.
Commitment to quality and accuracy; willingness to meet fast‑paced project schedules.
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
PE license preferred (depending on experience).
Background and drug screening required; occasional travel/driving required.
