Must be based in the Los Angeles area. We are currently seeking a highly skilled CAD Technician with a strong background in civil engineering and specific expertise in railway or road design. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3–6 years of experience working with Bentley and AutoDesk platforms. Responsibilities
Railway Design and Drafting: Use Bentley and AutoDesk software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs and drafts for complex railway projects. Project Management: Collaborate with civil engineers and architects to ensure all project requirements are met and adhere to established specifications and standards. Quality Assurance: Review and modify CAD drawings, ensuring accuracy and quality in line with civil engineering principles and railway design standards. Training and Leadership: Provide guidance and training to junior CAD Technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of all design and drafting activities related to railway projects. Setting up and maintaining the common CAD/BIM environments used across projects. Coordinating the work of draftsmen internally and with subconsultants, ensuring consistency and quality. Streamlining workflows and data exchange to avoid rework and improve productivity. Qualifications
Minimum 3–6 years of experience as a CAD Technician in civil engineering, with a focus on railway design or similar project work. Proficiency in Bentley and AutoDesk platforms: MicroStation, OpenRail, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, Civil3D. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and Caltrans design standards. Excellent diligence and problem-solving skills.
