Systems Engineer II – Signal Processing Raytheon – Tucson, AZ (Onsite)

Overview At Raytheon's Processing, Guidance and Controls Center, the Signal Processing team seeks a Systems Engineer II to design, develop, prototype, integrate, test, and evaluate radar frequency (RF) or electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) algorithms and models.

What You Will Do

Collaborate in design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and models.

Use and modify simulations to support development and validation of signal processing algorithms.

Participate in engineering lab environments, test, verify, and validate sensor models and algorithm performance per requirements.

Integrate algorithms into hardware, support development from program start-up through live-fire testing, and participate in design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings.

Qualifications – Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience in signal processing for RF or EO/IR domains.

Proficiency in C++ programming.

Experience with algorithm design, implementation, analysis, testing, and optimization.

Active, transferable Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance (required prior to start).

Qualifications – Preferred

Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or Math.

Experience in missile systems applications.

Version control experience with Azure DevOps and Git.

Practical experience with RF or EO/IR algorithms such as adaptive processing, angle estimation, synthetic aperture radar, waveform design, edge detection, segmentation, image restoration, or feature extraction.

Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis.

Strong communication skills; ability to present to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Hardware/software integration experience.

Familiarity with adjacent engineering disciplines such as Guidance, Navigation & Control; Software Engineering; Systems Engineering; or Hardware Engineering.
