Description Projects Inc. is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker. The company manufactures complex small machined components for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries and has been in business for over fifty years. The Tool & Die Maker will report to the Manufacturing Manager.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
Operate and maintain machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
File, grind, shim, and adjust parts for proper fit.
Inspect finished dies for quality and defects.
Perform quality checks and test runs on tools and dies.
Modify and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean workspace.
Use CAD software to design and modify tools and dies.
Coordinate with engineers and production staff to meet requirements.
Perform routine maintenance on machinery.
Measure finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
Assemble, disassemble, and test products for quality and functionality.
Repair damaged tools and dies as needed.
Inspect finished products for defects and standards compliance.
Perform tasks within the scope of the job description to support department goals.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to learn and follow instructions.
Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
