About the Role Upper Valley Excavation is looking for a skilled, dependable Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel trucks, heavy machinery, and trailers. If you're experienced with everything from semis to excavators—and you take pride in keeping equipment in peak condition—we want to hear from you.
Diesel vehicles (dump trucks, semis, service trucks)
Heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, rollers, etc.)
Trailers (side dumps, pup trailers, transport trailers, etc.)
Responsibilities
Diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, and trailer systems
Maintain service logs, oil change intervals, and equipment hour tracking
Perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment
Keep detailed, organized records of all repairs and maintenance performed
Ensure tools and shop areas are clean and safe
Coordinate with team leads to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
Qualifications
3+ years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy equipment
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with side dump trailers and trailer brake systems preferred
Must be reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious
Excellent record-keeping and communication skills
Own tools are a plus—but we have tools available if needed
