Arcadis is seeking a
Construction Inspector
to join the Construction Management Team in Tampa, FL. The Inspector will use expertise in construction inspection, field management, QA/QC, and report documentation on municipal water and wastewater construction projects (e.g., treatment, pump stations, SCADA, electrical, civil or related work). The Inspector reports to the Resident Engineer and/or Project Manager and may lead other inspectors, providing regular updates on daily construction activities. Role accountabilities
The Construction Inspector will observe and inspect contractor work, perform punch list inspections, review drawings and specifications and other technical documents, and prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports/photos. They will participate in project schedules and contractor invoice reviews. Maintain quality assurance requirements and monitor code compliance issues. Inspect and identify deviations from Contract Documents; inform the contractor of required corrections clearly and professionally. Review submittals and other construction documents; recommend technical solutions. Attend and participate in construction meetings, safety meetings/updates, and project site coordination meetings. Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, equipment) for field changes, time-and-material work, and assist with basic field construction changes. Verify equipment and materials installation for payment purposes. Maintain Payment Quantity documentation. Perform mathematical calculations as necessary during inspections. Ensure Arcadis safety guidelines are followed during daily inspections. Local travel includes project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight. Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications 10 years of mechanical/civil/utility construction inspection experience. Key Skills/Attributes Ability to identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions; strong math aptitude; ability to multitask; solid time management; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook). Ability to work year-round in various weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of civil/utility construction inspection experience; experience with structural/mechanical/electrical inspection on various infrastructure projects; NASSCO ITCP/PACP certifications, ACI or NICET certifications; OSHA 10 Safety and Confined Space Entry Training; active participation in professional associations.
