Select Event Group A Drafter is a skilled professional responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on the specifications provided by engineers, architects, and other professionals. These drawings serve as blueprints for construction, manufacturing, and various engineering projects. The role requires a strong understanding of technical drawing principles, knowledge of industry-specific software, and the ability to translate complex information into clear and accurate representations. Draftsmen must also possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
Drafter Responsibilities & Duties
Prepare detailed drawings of architectural and engineering designs from sketches and specifications. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to incorporate design requirements into drawings. Review and revise drawings to meet project specifications and standards. Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify drawings. Ensure that drawings are accurate, detailed, and contain all necessary information for construction or manufacturing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and materials. Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the construction or manufacturing process. Manage documentation and filing systems for drawings and project records. Conduct site visits to gather data and verify design specifications are being met. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Drafter Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks. Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work. Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards. Previous experience in a similar role or industry. Associate's degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software. Strong mathematical and technical skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
