Job Summary The CAD Designer/Drafter will be responsible for creating technical drawings and plans using computer‑aided design (CAD) software. Precision and attention to detail will be crucial in producing accurate drawings that adhere to industry standards.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed drawings for mechanical components and systems based on specifications provided by engineers and designers.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure that designs meet technical requirements and standards.
Revise drawings as necessary to incorporate feedback and ensure accuracy.
Create schematics, layouts, and diagrams for various projects.
Assist in the development of prototypes and models.
Maintain documentation of all drawings and revisions.
Requirements
Experience in building and assembling mechanical components.
Proficiency in CAD Software such as SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, MicroStation, and Inventor.
Experience working as an AutoCAD drafter required.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of technical writing and codes standards.
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
Ability to interpret and create mechanical design drawings.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Environment
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
This position requires the employee to be present in the office; therefore, attendance is an essential function of the position.
