Diesel Mechanic/Class 8 Tractors/Trailers
Job Summary Responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on company equipment consisting of preventative maintenance, minor to major repairs to tractors and trailers.
Job Requirements
Valid and unrestricted Driver’s license
Must have a Toolbox
Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred. ASE certification preferred Diesel
Minimum of 3 years of Technician experience preferred with Class 8 Tractor & Trailer
New and Recent Diesel Mechanics are welcome. Must have graduated from an Accredited Diesel Mechanic program.
Essential Duties
Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of company equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions
Performs P.M. inspections to ensure DOT requirements are met
Performs other tasks/projects as instructed by VP of Fleet Maintenance
Assists with road service calls during emergency breakdowns.
Complete required documentation associated with repairing vehicles and documenting parts usage
Assures compliance with all appropriate safety rules and regulations
Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
Ability to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds.
Ability to move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to inspect and or wash vehicles.
