Field Engineer - Heavy Industrial Construction Project
The Robinson Construction Company Field Engineer Development Program aims to foster professional growth through training, certifications, and hands-on experience. The program includes an Individual Development Plan to track progress.
Duties and Responsibilities
General
Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in project administration and coordination.
Gain proficiency in company computer systems and software.
Participate in mentoring and career development programs.
Work weekends as required.
Field Activities
Support layout, control, and verification of elevations and dimensions.
Document site activities with photos and videos.
Assist with material receipt, inspection, and verification.
Understand and support communication and computer systems on-site.
Perform quality control inspections and assist with erosion control and safety protocols.
Maintain logs, documentation, and assist in procurement and testing activities.
Develop construction insights to anticipate issues and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.
Project Management Assistance
Review project documents and schedules.
Support procurement, submittals, and documentation processes.
Monitor and verify field activities, costs, and testing reports.
Estimating Assistance
Assist with quantity takeoffs, RFQ preparations, and data entry.
Meetings
Participate in progress, safety, and project-specific meetings as scheduled.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent experience.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, AutoCAD, and internet browsing.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Effective communication and coordination with field staff and owners.
Continuing Education
Set goals and pursue ongoing professional development.
Maintain certifications such as OSHA 30, MSHA, ACI, welding, bolting, excavation, first aid, confined space, and rigging.
