Wind Turbine Technician – King Creek Windfarm – Abilene, TX Join Siemens Gamesa as an Internal Blade Inspection Technician for the King Creek Windfarm.

Overview As an Internal Blade Inspection Technician, you will conduct internal inspections on Siemens Gamesa wind turbine blades, inspecting all blade quadrants, documenting findings, and supporting continuous improvement of inspection procedures. You will spend approximately 70% of your time at the home wind farm, with 30% travel to nearby sites. A shared company vehicle will be provided, and no per diem is offered.

Responsibilities

Conduct internal blade inspections according to Siemens Gamesa standards.

Climb wind turbines (up to 300 feet) and enter confined spaces for detailed blade assessments.

Use inspection tools, cameras, and software to capture accurate data and report results.

Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, site rules, and environmental standards.

Support development of inspection procedures and provide feedback.

Work in varying weather conditions and be physically prepared for climbing, lifting, and confined environments.

Travel as required to nearby sites to support coverage and operational needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; additional education or experience in mechanical/electrical systems preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical, mechanical, or inspection-related field; wind turbine experience highly preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.

Proven ability to work safely in confined spaces and at heights.

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Valid driver’s license with a clean record (required for operating shared vehicle).

Ability to pass all required physical and medical evaluations (weight restrictions, confined space requirements).
