Job Purpose The GIS Analyst will play a critical role in supporting and implementing Esri’s Utility Network (UN) for water, sewer, and stormwater systems. This position requires expertise in Esri Utility Network architecture, data modeling, and configuration to modernize and optimize utility asset management and network tracing capabilities. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience supporting municipal or utility clients, performing GIS data migration, and delivering enterprise GIS solutions that align with industry best practices.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Configure, deploy, and maintain Esri Utility Network environments for water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities.
Perform data modeling, migration, and conversion from geometric networks or legacy systems to the Esri Utility Network schema.
Support ArcGIS Enterprise administration, including services, web maps, and feature layers.
Conduct network topology validation, rule configuration, and connectivity testing within Esri Utility Network.
Develop and maintain geodatabases, network layers, and domain configurations that ensure data integrity and alignment with utility standards.
Collaborate with utility staff to define workflows, business rules, and data maintenance procedures.
Produce high-quality maps, dashboards, and analytical products using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
Assist in training and knowledge transfer to client GIS and utility personnel.
Participate in project planning, documentation, and status reporting.
Work closely with developers, data engineers, and project managers to support integrated GIS solutions and enterprise system interoperability.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Esri ArcGIS Utility Network Specialty
3–5 years of progressive experience in GIS analysis, data management, and utility GIS implementation.
Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Data Reviewer.
Experience configuring and maintaining water, sewer, and stormwater network models within Esri’s Utility Network schema.
Knowledge of geodatabase design, domains, subtypes, topology, and versioning.
Familiarity with asset management systems (e.g., Cityworks, Lucity, Infor) and their GIS integrations.
Understanding of utility operations, including hydraulic modeling, field data collection (Survey123, Field Maps), and data governance.
Experience with enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and spatial data management.
Previous consulting experience with local governments or utilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
