KY HealthCorps at AmeriCorps
The Family Scholar House (FSH) will have up to 100 AmeriCorps members who will develop their healthcare knowledge and begin working in memory care, senior living, skilled nursing, assisted living, hospitals, hospice, and other healthcare related environments in the Appalachian Counties of KY, as defined by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) as part of a program called HealthCorps. At the end of the first program year of HealthCorps, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for completing credentialing coursework that will enable them to transition to a career as part of KY's healthcare workforce.
Member Duties
Spend a great deal of time interacting with patients/residents to perform medical and non-medical tasks and support activities. Assist with meal preparation and delivery to ensure maximum nutrition for patients in healthcare facilities. Spend time engaging with patients/residents, visitors, and community members at the facility.
Program Benefits
