Overview
Join to apply for the HealthCorps FL role at AmeriCorps. The Family Scholar House will have 24 AmeriCorps members in Duval County, Florida. AmeriCorps members will provide non-clinical support to individuals with unique abilities in long-term care, memory care settings and hospitals, engaging residents through structured activities that promote wellness, increase participation in care routines, and encourage behavior change. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for supporting at least 300 individuals, with a measurable number reporting a change in behavior or intent to change behavior to improve their health. In addition, members will complete a structured term of service that prepares them for future careers in Florida's healthcare workforce. Responsibilities
AmeriCorps members will serve as Patient Experience Representatives in long-term care and memory care facilities in Duval County, Florida. Provide non-clinical, person-centered support through structured, shift-based service routines. Greet and orient residents, engage individuals during mealtimes and wellness blocks, promote hydration, mobility, and social participation. Reinforce individual care plans in coordination with site staff. Interact with a consistent caseload of approximately 15 individuals each week, build rapport and encourage ongoing engagement in facility-based wellness routines. Aim to increase residents’ participation in therapeutic activities and improve their health-related behaviors over time. Program Benefits
