We have an opportunity with OrthoCarolina for a
Part Time Radiology Technologist
with our
OrthoCarolina University (OUC)
office location. This position will be scheduled 1-2 shifts per week, with shifts either Monday–Friday 5:30pm–9:00pm or Saturday/Sunday 10:00am–2:00pm.
Responsibilities
Provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and using appropriate protection standards.
Demonstrate competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgement of understanding, and address questions or concerns.
Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations; provide patient radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
Log radiological procedures completed and process charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and stock necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department; comply with all OrthoCarolina policies and procedures.
Assist with the transportation of patients between examination modules and the Radiology department; assist with patient flow in the examination modules as directed by a supervisor.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to operate various manufacturer types of radiology suite equipment (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips).
Proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
Ability to identify equipment problems and correct or notify a supervisor.
Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
Observe safety and security procedures.
Qualifications
Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
Professional license or certification requirements: Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT registry eligible.
Current CPR certification recommended.
