Position Summary The Emergency Management Coordinator for Training, Exercises, and Logistics is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs, conducting emergency preparedness exercises, and managing logistical resources to support hospital-wide emergency response and continuity of operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the hospital meets regulatory standards, improves readiness, and builds resilience through well-coordinated planning and hands-on preparedness activities. Additionally, this position will contribute to the medical center's patient safety and quality improvement efforts, working to identify, implement, and monitor initiatives that enhance care delivery and safety protocols. As the Coordinator, you will assist in alignment with The Joint Commission's six critical areas of emergency management: Communications, Resource Management, Safety and Security, Staff responsibilities, Utilities management, and Clinical Operations. This position plays a key role in enhancing the medical center's emergency preparedness, resilience, and ability to effectively manage crises, ensuring optimal patient outcomes during both routine and emergency situations. Minimum Requirements Bachelor degree in Business/Healthcare/Nursing, Safety, Emergency Management or Emergency Services. 2-4 years of emergency management, nursing or paramedic experience. Registered Nurse or EMT-Paramedic required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that promote and model professionalism while upholding the mission and values of ECU Health. Knowledge of business and management principles including the ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations, establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan, effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others while leading, motivating, developing, and training them. ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 required (if not, must be obtained within six months of employment). Experience with Hospital Incident Command System (ICS).
