Job Description The University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine and Tampa General Hospital Transplant Institute are seeking a Lung Transplant, ECMO, and Cystic Fibrosis Pulmonologist to expand our Center for Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant program. This full‑time clinical position is at the Assistant Professor to Associate Professor Level and will work in a highly collaborative environment with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and other transplant specialists. Pulmonologists within the program are responsible for the entire continuum of care for advanced lung disease patients, including pre‑ and post‑lung transplant in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As part of the academic team, the candidate will participate in multidisciplinary ICU rounds with colleagues, residents, and fellows, and engage in scholarly activities including clinical research and medical education. Successful candidates must have a medical degree or equivalent and be Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care, and have completed a lung transplant fellowship.
Responsibilities
Provide pulmonary transplant services for the Center for Advanced Lung Disease at TGH and/or other affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Teach in the USF fellowship program; develop didactic sessions, grand rounds, and clinical teaching for residents and students.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records, progress notes, orders, and discharge summaries; complete required trainings and compliance activities.
Administer duties to a Chair or appropriate higher‑level administrator of a State university.
Perform academic advising and related activities; represent the university, college, or department as needed.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution (or highest degree in the field with demonstrated teaching, research, and service record). Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent.
Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care; completed a lung transplant fellowship.
Applicants must maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed.
Additional Minimum
Full unrestricted FL Medical License required; ongoing maintenance of credentials is necessary.
Participation in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.
Subject to Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
