The University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine and Tampa General Hospital Transplant Institute is seeking a Lung Transplant, ECMO, and Cystic Fibrosis Pulmonologist to expand our Center for Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant program. This full-time clinical position is at the Assistant Professor to Associate Professor Level.

As a physician in the Center for Advanced Lung Disease, the candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with CT surgeons, intensivists, and other transplant specialists. Pulmonologists within the program are responsible for the entire continuum of care for advanced lung disease patients, including pre‑ and post‑lung transplant in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The candidate will participate in multidisciplinary ICU rounds with colleagues, residents, and fellows, and engage in scholarly activities such as clinical research and medical education.

Responsibilities

Provide Pulmonary Transplant Services for the Center for Advanced Lung Disease and affiliated hospitals and clinics.

Participate in the USF fellowship program and develop didactic teaching sessions, grand rounds, and clinical teaching of residents and students.

Maintain accurate electronic medical records, including progress notes, orders, and discharge summaries, and comply with required trainings and administrative activities.

Report to a Chair or senior administrator of the university or department.

Engage in teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.

Provide academic advising and represent the university, college, school, or department as needed.

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD, DO) from an accredited institution.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, and Critical Care.

Completed a lung transplant fellowship.

Full, unrestricted Florida Medical License (or eligible foreign equivalent).

Appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Additional Minimum Requirements

Obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License and maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan.

Be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals assigned to perform clinical duties.

Participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.
