Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Williston, VT.

Technician positions pay weekly: $33.00 per hour

Certification bonus of up to $700 for each new ASE certification

Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign‑on bonus: $2,250 at 30 days and $2,250 at 90 days

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational or Technical Certification, Post‑Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work), basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)

Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred

All other certifications required by location, required

Additional Requirements

Minimum of 2 years experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment

Knowledge of and ability to apply computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance, complex mechanical and electronic diagnoses, and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision

Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task

Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels

Access and use internal and external maintenance documents

Perform other support duties as required, such as Service Island support

Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220) and two OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days as required by fleet mix
