Heavy Equipment Mechanic
to join our team. The
Heavy Equipment Mechanic
will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various heavy machinery and equipment used in our recycling operations. This position requires a strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently to ensure continuous equipment operation. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance tasks on heavy equipment, including loaders, skid steer, and material handlers Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and develop effective repair solutions to minimize downtime and maximize equipment uptime Conduct thorough inspections and tests to identify potential problems and perform necessary repairs or replacements of defective parts Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems as needed to maintain optimal performance and reliability Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and equipment history Collaborate with other team members to prioritize repair and maintenance tasks based on operational needs and deadlines Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues Stay updated on industry developments and technological advancements in heavy equipment maintenance to implement best practices and improve efficiency Requirements High school diploma or equivalent vocational training or certification in heavy equipment mechanics or a related field is preferred Proven experience as a
