We are seeking Structural Engineers to join our Structural/Marine Group in our Richmond, VA office.
Come join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including waterfront facilities (piers, wharves, and bulkheads); dry docks and graving docks; and waterfront buildings. WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.
Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of waterfront projects using various materials including concrete, steel, aluminum and FRP. Conduct field investigations, develop concept designs, and create construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets including Federal/Local Government and Industrial/Shipbuilding.
Responsibilities
Structural analysis, design and detailing for a variety of waterfront facility types
Vessel berthing and mooring analysis
Field investigation, documentation, and report development
Development of plans, sections, and details in CADD and BIM platforms
Development of reports, cost estimates and specifications
Coordination with other disciplines and project stakeholders
Qualifications
5-10 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration or similar.
Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, OPTIMOOR, etc.)
Experience with vessel berthing and mooring analyses
Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD).
Knowledge of building codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, etc.)
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship required
Additional Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration preferred.
Professional Engineer license preferred
