Job Description Family‑owned VT Trucking, LLC is looking for a
Full Service Diesel Mechanic . This is a full‑time position offering weekly competitive hourly rates (DOE) and a complete line of benefits, including vision insurance, company‑paid health & dental (pending the plan you choose), fully vested 401(k) options with company matching, and paid time off (PTO). Our shop has 3 bays with 3 five‑ton cranes to facilitate the maintenance and repair of various trucks, trailers, and other equipment used for earthmoving.
Requirements
Experience working with CAT, Paccar, and Cummins Engines, preferably with computer diagnoses
5+ years’ experience working with diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, brakes, suspensions, emissions, and electrical systems
MUST have your own tools
ASE Master Medium‑Heavy Truck Technician Certification
Can withstand extreme conditions: excessive heat, wind, cold, and continuous noise for extended shifts
Valid OSHA 10 for the Construction industry
Ability to pass a required drug test
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine maintenance on all trucks and trailers
Be able to troubleshoot and repair Class 5‑8 truck issues, including brakes, exhaust, clutch, and engine work
Diagnose engine problems, rebuilding when necessary
Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems
Resolve all issues, including axles, wheel seals, roof and floor repairs, panel work, brakes, and electrical
Offer innovative solutions to keep equipment running safely
Other duties as assigned by management
