Shift N1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Alternating Saturdays – 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Summary As a Production Technician III/Business Unit Leader, you will be responsible for maximizing the operating performance of a Mini Business Unit within the Spartanburg Site. In this hands‑on role you will operate equipment, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement across multiple pieces of equipment. Working in a highly automated TPM‑based environment you will execute standardized processes, perform layered audits, and facilitate structured problem‑solving to drive waste out of the system and promote a culture of continuous improvement. You will train, mentor, and guide other technicians, ensuring safety and delivering world‑class cost, quality, and service performance.
Responsibilities
Safety – Deliver upon the site safety goal of zero injuries by:
Being a role model in communicating, demonstrating, and supporting safe behaviors
Regularly completing and/or participating in behavioral safety observations and training others on the process
Actively participating in safety meetings
Conducting safety audits and risk reduction initiatives
Ensuring 100% completion of all safety/regulatory training as it applies to you
Quality – Achieve zero‑defect performance and improve the customer experience by:
Understanding and training others on all quality control, Safe Quality Food, Good Manufacturing Practices, and other regulatory requirements
Production – Help foster and support a continuous improvement environment by:
Identifying and addressing equipment and material issues as they occur
Partnering across maintenance and quality organizations using the Daily Management System to drive site performance
Leading or supporting cross‑functional focused improvement initiatives to streamline material flow and improve equipment efficiency, increase capacity, and reduce operating expenses
Lead and sustain TPM‑based production environment by:
Supporting and driving the site TPM journey and mentoring others in the TPM process
Developing corrective action plans and escalating to Crew Leads or maintenance as appropriate
Defining, reviewing, and driving improvements to standard work for autonomous and preventive maintenance activities
Actively participating in Kaizen activities at the site and assisting in line and MBU implementations of improvements identified during events
Leading team meetings at the line and business unit boards and leveraging process to scale and resolve issues
Partnering with maintenance on the execution preventive maintenance and leading improvement activities that cross team and functional boundaries
Engage in Mini Business Unit structure (MBU) and High Performing Team (HPT) model by:
Actively contributing to the site’s MBU structure and HPT model
Demonstrating effective teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement
Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor with all team members and stakeholders
Requirements
Proven ability to lead a team through daily operations and initiatives supporting safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement
Experience supporting team members to meet required and desired training and development goals
Mathematical skills to make production calculations and perform loss and waste analysis
Ability to learn, train, and support subject matter expert responsibilities to ensure team members perform MES and WES transactions properly
Ability to spend significant time standing on the manufacturing floor with some frequency of computer work
Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds frequently without assistance
Total Rewards
Pay starting at $31.24 per hour; higher rate of $32.89 per hour after the 6‑month anniversary
