Purpose As Category Manager, Commercial (Patient Services), you will lead the implementation of the category procurement strategy in partnership with Category Directors and VP‐level business stakeholders. You will oversee end‑to‑end procurement processes, manage a team of specialists, and help develop workforce planning.
NOTE:
Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
Responsibilities
Partner with Director/VP‑level stakeholders to develop category‑specific procurement strategies and contribute to the annual strategic plan.
Relay insights from team analysis to Directors and Associate Directors to inform strategic decisions and stay abreast of industry trends.
Manage strategic value drivers with key category suppliers to secure cost savings, optimize processes, and enhance overall procurement value.
Monitor supplier performance on sustainability and ESG measures, working alongside suppliers to improve responsible sourcing practices.
Enable Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategies, driving innovation with key category suppliers and collaborating on cutting‑edge solutions.
Implement mitigation strategies to proactively manage procurement risk and ensure process and policy compliance.
Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver strategic category‑related projects from initiation to completion.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains, leveraging data analytics for continuous improvement programs.
Assist with the end‑to‑end procurement process—from sourcing strategy to contract negotiation and execution—enabling negotiations and facilitating decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field; Master’s preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related operations.
Experience managing teams in a procurement function and leading supplier relationships.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Power Platform).
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Expertise in category management, including market analysis and financial assessment.
Negotiation and bidding experience, with a focus on change management.
Ability to build and manage collaborative supplier relationships aligned with business needs.
Innovative problem‑solving skills and a solution‑oriented mindset.
High cross‑functional collaboration, teamwork, and excellent communication at all organizational levels.
Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and an autonomous work ethic.
Additional Information
The compensation range is the base pay range for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation will vary by location, experience, and other factors.
