Division

Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is a center of excellence for final assembly of landing gear. As part of the Central Division, the Commodity Manager will lead P&L responsibility for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E‑2, and important military programs including F‑18, F‑35, C‑17 and C‑130.

Summary Responsible for key supplier relationships and contract negotiations, while defining and implementing key metrics, tools, and systems to align with the organization’s strategic goals.

Main Responsibilities

Lead the procurement team to manage monthly KPIs (OTD, Inventory, PPV, etc.) and provide guidance on best supply‑chain practices.

Prepare and conduct supplier contract negotiations ensuring best price, payment terms, quality levels, and delivery terms.

Ensure accuracy of contractual agreements for assigned suppliers.

Coordinate on‑site supplier assessments and continuous improvement activities to drive down cost and improve quality.

Develop relationships with upper management at key suppliers.

Manage supplier escalations and improvement plans.

Assess supplier capacity and conduct risk analysis (capacity and financial).

Identify new and/or alternate sources of supply to support new product development and cost‑reduction requirements.

Evaluate medium‑to‑long‑term supplier capabilities to optimize the supply base.

Support corporate goals related to supplier quality, total cost, and inventory objectives.

Maintain knowledge of commodity trends (industry trends, cost drivers, pricing, material lead times, manufacturing processes).

Support make‑vs‑buy analysis through new program introductions/launches.

Other duties, reporting, special assignments or projects as needed.

Our Ideal Candidate

7+ years’ experience in manufacturing.

Experience with contract negotiation.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and globally.

Strong analytical skills (data and financial analysis).

Intermediate negotiation, written and verbal communication skills.

Inventory management experience.

Minimum 4‑year BA/BS in business, technical or related field; MBA preferred.
