About This Job The main purpose of this job is to oversee and manage the Fair and Responsible Banking Program, as directed by the Fair and Responsible Banking Sr. Manager. Responsibilities include identifying fair lending and UDAAP risk through use of risk assessments, answering questions, making presentations, managing regulatory change implementations, overseeing exam management, and working with various internal stakeholders in coordinating fair lending and UDAAP strategy. Essential Functions Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs. Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required. Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information to team members effectively. Support budget management, planning and expenditure. Oversee completion of fair lending and Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) risk assessments. Assist business lines in development of strategies to manage identified risks, answering questions, making presentations, assisting with regulatory change implementations, and working with various internal stakeholders in coordinating fair lending and UDAAP strategy. Develop formal UDAAP program to include oversight of product inventory, testing/monitoring, reporting, and training. Develop and maintain Fair and Responsible Banking sections of the department program manual. Provide guidance to lines of business and market leadership regarding Fair Lending and UDAAP performance. Present to various stakeholders (internal and external) regarding Commerce Fair Lending and UDAAP performance. Oversee Fair Lending and UDAAP related reporting including development of reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance. Oversee design and development of processes/structures to improve/grow Fair Lending and UDAAP programs. Provide guidance on branch footprint openings/closures. Maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding Fair Lending and UDAAP trends/regulations. Oversee relevant Fair Lending and UDAAP analysis conducted internally or by EABI. Engage Legal Department for guidance. Ensure schedules are established for analysis including completion of summary reporting. Oversee management of the Fair Lending and UDAAP examination activities, including preparation, onsite examiner activities (questions, etc.) and exam follow-up as needed. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Strong knowledge of the fair lending and UDAAP related regulations and concepts. Strong analytical, critical thinking and presentation skills. Ability to summarize and explain complex topics clearly. Ability to analyze complex sets of data to reach risk conclusions. Ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage interrelated and/or complex issues and to respond to changes regarding project objectives, scope, or deadlines. Ability to communicate complicated regulations across all levels within the organization. Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business. Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals. Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing. Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values. Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 6+ years relevant risk management experience required. 3+ years leadership/supervisory experience required.
