Location: Northwest region of Wisconsin (Ayres) — The firm is seeking a confident and motivated project manager to contribute to the growth of the Transportation division. You will work with experienced roadway, structure, traffic, and construction engineering staff to deliver quality transportation projects and will be supported by fellow project managers and upper management.
Success will be defined by your ability to develop client relationships; identify, pursue, win and manage transportation projects; make hiring recommendations as the group grows; and mentor less experienced staff within the group.

Overview On any given day, you’ll:
Take the lead in marketing and winning transportation projects from clients including WisDOT, city and county governments, and the private sector.
Prepare and negotiate contract documents.
Manage clients.
Manage projects: oversee the production of all project work, ensuring on-schedule delivery, profitability, and conformance with Ayres Associates’ quality standards and contract requirements.
Build and maintain respectful working relationships with coworkers and leaders.
Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
Participate in regularly scheduled group meetings to discuss project pursuits, workload, and resource utilization.
Provide input to the group manager for annual business plan and budget development for the group.
Engage in local, statewide, and/or national professional organizations.
Participate in office-wide social events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Wisconsin.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in transportation-related design and project management.
Willingness to travel to other company locations from time to time.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences
Enthusiastic focus on business development, including client contact, marketing initiatives, and monitoring client and partner satisfaction.
Desire to build the Ayres Associates brand at professional meetings/conferences locally, statewide, and potentially nationally.
Professional representation of Ayres Associates.
A collaborative mindset to cultivate a team environment where all staff feel valued, supported, and free to share ideas.
Experience with transportation design software including WisDOT, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer, and other engineering software.
