We’re currently seeking a confident, motivated project manager to serve as a key contributor within our Transportation team and help us grow in the Southeast Wisconsin region. You’ll have access to experienced roadway, structure, traffic, and construction engineering staff to assist you in driving quality transportation projects forward and ensuring their successful delivery to our clients. You’ll also receive support from fellow project managers and upper management who are committed to these priorities.
Success will be defined by your ability to develop client relationships; identify, pursue, win and manage transportation-related projects; make hiring recommendations as we grow the group; and contribute to the career development of less experienced staff within the group. On Any Given Day, You’ll
Take the lead in marketing and winning transportation projects from clients including WisDOT, counties, municipalities, and the private sector.
Prepare and negotiate contract documents.
Manage clients.
Oversee the production of all project work, ensuring it is delivered on schedule, profitable, and in conformance with Ayres Associates’ quality standards and contract requirements.
Build and maintain respectful working relationships with colleagues and leaders.
Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
Participate in regularly scheduled group meetings to discuss project pursuits, workload, and resource utilization.
Provide input to the group manager for the development of an annual business plan and budget for the group.
Engage in local, statewide, and national professional organizations.
Participate in office-wide social events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Wisconsin.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in transportation-related design and project management.
Willingness to travel to other company locations from time to time.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Desired Skills And Experiences
Enthusiastic focus on business development, client contact, marketing initiatives, and monitoring client and partner satisfaction.
WisDOT experience is a plus.
Desire to build the Ayres Associates brand at professional meetings locally, statewide, and potentially nationally.
Professional representation of Ayres Associates.
Team-oriented approach where all staff feel valued and ideas flow freely.
Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD and other engineering software.
