The Transformation, Analytics & Strategy (TAS) team is an internal team to Workforce Management that provides tools, reporting, systems, processes, and knowledge to optimize our workforce in an evolving and dynamic environment. We are the analytical center of excellence acting as the primary consultants within the Workforce Management organization and beyond – driving analytical and strategic work across The Walt Disney World Resort. We manage relationships across multiple levels of the Walt Disney World site – up to and including regular updates to the site President. We are expected to understand complex processes from end to end and to drive value through solution design, development, and implementation. Our sophisticated technological skills and positive relationships, make our team the partner of choice for teams both in and out of Workforce Management!
What You Will Do
Demonstrate strong relationship management skills including but not limited to, mentoring and guiding peers and colleagues, communicating advanced analytical concepts to non-technical audiences, and influencing and building trust with key stakeholders with a variety of objectives.
Proven innovator that investigates and researches new technologies and methodologies.
Leading and owning their own projects and work streams with minimal guidance from leadership.
Be a subject matter expert/specialist within their scope of work resulting in them being the partner of choice for executives and key decision makers.
Work across a variety of cross functional areas to develop holistic models to better predict and prescribe improvements to the overall Walt Disney World labor strategy
Leverage data science skills to deliver mathematical models and ad‑hoc statistical analyses
Conduct end‑to‑end analysis that includes data collection and exploration, feature generation and reduction, and algorithm selection – up to and including advanced machine learning models.
Work in a large, complex data environment, compiling and cleansing data across a variety of domains to create a foundation for your analytic work
Determine the best techniques to use to solve problems efficiently and effectively, examining all aspects of the analytics curve across statistical, predictive, and prescriptive methods
Interpret outputs of analyses and models to make relevant recommendations
Draw inferences, quantify uncertainty/risk, and identify limitations to accurately summarize findings
Develop presentations and reports using quantitative information for non-technical stakeholders
Conduct process mapping, assess findings, and provide recommendations for efficiency and effectiveness.
Familiar with a variety of workforce metrics and drivers including but not limited to – Workload, Call‑Outs, Attendance, Offerings, Attrition, Variability – and able to review, analyze, and otherwise leverage these inputs to provide strategic direction for the business.
Able to collaborate with partners across the business including Operations, Finance, HR, LR, ER, etc. on best ways to plan and staff the business.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience in Decision Science, Data Science, or analytical workspaces.
Proficiency in Project Management and ability to independently handle multiple competing deadlines.
Experience with coding languages like SQL and Python.
Experience with data visualization tools and applications like Tableau, PowerApps, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data manipulation and analytical tools (R, Dataiku, SSMS, PowerAutomate, PowerBI)
Experience with Advanced Analytics (Coding, AI, Statistical Analysis, Significance Testing, Forecasting, Optimization, Machine Learning)
Experience with Data Collection Studies (Observation, Design, Collection, Analysis, Reporting, etc.)
Education Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Engineering, or a related analytical field or equivalent experience.
