Bills insurance companies, governmental agencies, and individual patients; follow up on open accounts; resolve payment problems; and finalize accounts. Job Requirements
Education/Experience:
Equivalent to high school graduation and two (2) years of hospital and/or physician clinic billing and/or follow-up experience. Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements:
Experience with Motor Vehicle Accident Claims, Collection Agencies, and hospital liens Experience in billing practices, monitoring payments, reviewing accounts, making corrections, resolving problems, and establishing payment arrangements Preferred Applicants Will Have:
EPIC EHR experience Minimum of 2 years in customer service related to medical billing and patient accounting Knowledge of billing and follow-up of Third Party Liability claims 1+ years of experience with Hospital Liability Liens Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of medical terminology, insurance plans, legal terminology, collection principles, and hospital safety practices. Skills in customer service, billing practices, account review, problem resolution, communication, and computer use. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility in an office setting, stamina for long periods of seated work, visual and auditory capacity for communication, and ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force as needed. Accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. Additional Details
