Quality Inspector I-III, 1st Shift 6AM-4:30PM Nammo Defense Systems Inc. is an engineering and composite manufacturing company located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This full‑time role is on the 1st shift (6:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Thursday). The position supports Quality Engineering and participates in continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will conduct visual inspections, assist with first‑article inspections per AS9102, and provide fact‑based recommendations for product conformance.

Job Summary Seek a qualified professional to fill the role of Full‑Time Quality Technician responsible for visual inspection and monitoring in‑house operations. Responsibilities include visual inspection, documentation, and advising management on product conformance and capability issues.

Principle Responsibilities

Review prescribed specifications and standards to detect errors.

Identify non‑conformances based on in‑process and final product inspections in accordance with inspection plans.

Assist Quality Engineering in planning and conducting first‑article inspections in accordance with AS9102.

Support Quality Engineering in the review and generation of manufacturing/inspection documentation.

Support quality and product engineers to resolve problem issues and improve quality.

Work with supplier quality to facilitate corrective and preventive actions relative to supplier quality problems found at incoming inspection.

Recommend updates in inspection and test techniques to improve productivity/accuracy and eliminate inconsistencies through development of standards of acceptability.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education / Skills / Experience) Quality Technician I

High School Diploma or GED required.

Basic understanding of dimensioning.

Trained on basic skills: Calipers, height gauges, OD/ID micrometers, Vernier scale, Romer Arm usage, optical comparators, PI tapes (may require supervision).

Ability to identify and write non‑conformance reports with QE guidance.

Ability to perform program‑specific inspection plans with minimal supervision after training.

Proficient with Excel, Word, SmarTeam, Epicor, Outlook.

Quality Technician II

High School Diploma or GED required.

5+ years relevant experience.

Experience in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or extensive Romer/Faro Arm CMM programming/inspection a plus.

Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Can utilize the same tools as I level without supervision.

Ability to write non‑conformance reports.

Inspect per program with no supervision.

Profound Excel, Word, SmarTeam, Epicor, Outlook skills.

Can train other technicians on select skills and inspection plans.

Quality Technician III

High School Diploma or GED required.

10+ years relevant experience.

Experience in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or extensive Romer/Faro Arm CMM programming/inspection a plus.

In‑depth understanding of GD&T.

Can use all tools independently and perform troubleshooting.

Write non‑conformance reports.

Perform program‑specific inspections with no supervision and basic troubleshooting.

Proficient in Excel, Word, SmarTeam, Epicor, Outlook.

Can train other technicians extensively and fill in for programs at Tech III level.
