Hyperlayer
About Hyperlayer
We are a recently well‑funded UK‑based fintech company and now expanding into the US market with an innovative family banking and dependent spend card software platform purpose‑built for retail banks, community banks, and credit unions. Our solution empowers financial institutions to launch new card products faster, drive customer loyalty, and unlock new revenue streams in a high‑growth, competitive category.
About The Role We’re looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Representative (BDR) ready to take a lead role in building our outbound capability. The ideal candidate has a track record of consistent performance ideally in fintech or SaaS selling into financial institutions. As our first US‑based BDR, you’ll be on the front line of our market entry, responsible for generating and qualifying new business opportunities with retail banks, community banks, and credit unions. This is a hands‑on role perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, early‑stage environment, can juggle multiple priorities, and has the persistence and creativity to open doors with hard‑to‑reach decision‑makers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Qualification – Assess marketing‑generated leads and prospect needs, qualify leads into Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs), and schedule discovery or demo meetings for Account Executives.
Prospect & Qualify – Research, identify, and engage with potential banking partners that fit our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
Outbound Outreach – Execute high‑volume cold calling, emailing, LinkedIn outreach, and other touchpoints to generate new opportunities.
CRM Excellence – Maintain accurate records of outreach, conversations, and pipeline progression in Hubspot.
Collaborate with Marketing & Sales – Share market intelligence, prospect feedback, and competitive insights to refine outreach strategies and messaging.
Pipeline Building – Consistently meet or exceed monthly funnel KPI activity.
Market Intelligence – Stay current on US retail and community banking trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape.
You Should Apply If You Have
5–7 years of outbound business development or sales development experience in fintech or B2B SaaS (bonus if you’ve sold to banks or credit unions).
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding outbound activity and qualified MQL, SQL and meeting targets.
Strong phone, email, and LinkedIn outreach skills with the ability to engage senior banking executives.
Highly organized with experience managing a sales pipeline in Hubspot.
Resilient, self‑motivated, and adaptable to shifting priorities in a startup environment.
Proven experience with martech and sales‑tech platforms including Hubspot, Apollo.io, Zoominfo or similar, Sales Navigator and other similar digital outreach platforms.
Comfortable balancing high‑volume lead qualification and outreach with tailored, personalized prospecting while working in a fast‑paced, early‑stage environment with shifting priorities.
Self‑starter with the ability to work with ambiguity.
Bonus: Familiarity with the US banking industry, family banking products, or dependent spend card solutions.
