Description

Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center is seeking licensed pediatric Speech-Language Pathologists interested in working with school-age students during the school day and/or after school hours. Cases are available throughout Western New York, with services provided in schools, homes, and other community locations. Compensation is as follows: $42 per completed 30-minute session $63 per completed 45-minute session $84 per completed 60-minute session The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and recommending therapeutic interventions for young children with communication disorders. Responsibilities also include implementing appropriate Speech-Language Pathology treatment programs to habilitate or rehabilitate the child's communication abilities. Essential Functions: Demonstrate competence in speech-language impairment assessment (licensed or under supervision of a licensed SLP). Determine type and severity of impairment, prognosis, and appropriate treatment. Evaluate, diagnose, and recommend interventions for communication disorders, collaborating with educators, SLPs, OTs, PTs, audiologists, and other professionals. Implement tailored Speech-Language Pathology treatment plans. Submit evaluation reports, treatment plans, progress, and discharge reports promptly and accurately, maintaining legal and agency standards. Make referrals as needed to support therapeutic outcomes. Communicate regularly with families and clients. Maintain professional judgment, participate in continuing education, and stay current with licensure and certifications. Licensed SLPs must supervise CFYs in accordance with legal and agency policies. Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors. Education Requirements: Master’s degree from an accredited speech-language pathology program. License/Certification Requirements: New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) initial or professional certificate, or TSHH permanent certificate Physical Requirements: Physical activities may include bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running. Adequate vision, speech, tactile, and hearing abilities to perform job duties. Frequent sitting, standing, and floor sitting when working with pediatric patients.
