Maintenance Mechanic Vernon, California Job Ref: 40832 FOOD MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN VERNON CA IS LOOKING FOR A STRONG MAINTENANCE MECHANIC WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN ELECTRICAL MUST HAVE 480V, PLCS, VFDS, TRADE SCHOOL TRAINING AND COME FROM A HIGH-SPEED MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT 1ST SHIFT 430AM-230PM MON-FRI WITH SOME SATS PAYS: $40-$45 HOURLY Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plant machinery, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals, ensuring timely repairs and minimal downtime. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document results to maintain optimal equipment performance. Fabricate, repair, or replace parts using welding, machining, and other mechanical techniques as needed. Assist in the installation, testing, and calibration of new equipment or machinery. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, including repair reports, spare parts usage, and equipment history. Work closely with production teams to identify equipment issues and provide solutions to improve efficiency. Follow all safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment reliability and plant productivity. Assist with inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred. Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Experience with PLC troubleshooting, variable frequency drives, and automated machinery is a plus. Proficiency in welding (TIG, MIG, Stick) and fabrication techniques preferred. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards. Willingness to work overtime or on-call as needed.
