Assistant Teaching Professor, Environmental Studies — The University of Tampa
The Department of Environmental Studies within the College of Natural and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position at the Assistant Teaching Professor level beginning in August 2026. The position will have primary teaching responsibilities in introductory-level Environmental Studies courses for majors and general education Environmental Studies courses for non-majors. Area of expertise is open.
Responsibilities
Teach introductory Environmental Studies courses for majors and general education Environmental Studies courses for non-majors (e.g., Environmental Science, Biodiversity Conservation, Urban Sustainability, Introduction to Geosciences).
Contribute to the department’s teaching mission with a focus on high-quality undergraduate teaching and advising.
Collaborate with on-campus colleagues and external partners as appropriate for undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities.
Qualifications
Masters or Doctoral degrees in Environmental Education, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a related field are preferred.
Prior teaching experience with undergraduates is required.
A personal commitment to quality undergraduate teaching and advising is essential.
