Vertiv . The GPMO team mission is to continuously develop and improve our Product Lifecycle Management Processes, which includes New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI), and ETO and Design Transfers. The NPDI Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for identifying and leading initiatives that reduce Vertiv’s product development cycle time and for defining and driving Operational Excellence in the product development process.
Responsibilities
Act on process improvement actions from sources such as Operating Model KPIs, Leadership actions, Lessons Learned, lean workshops, and Kaizens.
Use lean principles to identify waste and continuously improve NPDI processes.
Document process improvements in Standard Operating Procedures, integrate into the Operating Model, and provide communications and training for process users.
Support on-the-job training for affected functions across the NPDI process; assist PMs in documenting critical paths, summarizing portfolio norms, comparing project complexity to schedule performance, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions for projects with high schedule slip and/or time-to-market (TTM).
Collaborate with Business Unit Project Managers and functional teams to define critical path steps, sequencing, and areas for improvement.
Work with the GPMO team and other functions to implement necessary process improvements and actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Certifications in Design for Six Sigma, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies are a plus.
10+ years in process development and improvement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to process improvement.
Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Self-motivated and proactive with minimal supervision required to seek out and implement process improvements.
Ability to travel internationally and interface with global engineering teams.
Travel
10% travel domestically and internationally as required, with participation in global meetings outside normal working hours.
