Position Summary The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay brings help, hope and healing to people facing serious life challenges or trauma resulting from sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergency, suicidal thoughts, emotional or situational problems. The Paramedic position supports this mission by responding to all assigned calls in the most appropriate and efficient manner, providing the highest standards of patient care, while ensuring a safe and hazard-free environment.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service and patient care as the first point of contact, safely transporting passengers with various disabilities in a courteous and professional manner.

Participate in quality improvement processes and utilize data to enhance services and outcomes.

Utilize medical equipment and procedures within the scope of a Paramedic, including cardiac monitors, ECG interpretation, IV/IM/IN medication administration, and advanced airway management.

Develop triage skills to optimize call efficiency.

Safely lift and move patients following safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with receiving facilities and medical personnel.

Lead team efforts and manage ambulance units.

Assess patient conditions, including changes in coloration, and provide appropriate treatment.

Complete electronic Patient Care Reports accurately and thoroughly.

Maintain vehicle and equipment readiness, conduct pre-trip inspections, and ensure a professional appearance.

Adhere to all policies, procedures, and protocols, and participate in ongoing training and certifications.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be 18 years of age.

Current Florida Paramedic certification.

Valid Florida Class E driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Current AHA BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Successful completion of physical exams, background checks, drug screening, and required FEMA and Florida certifications within specified timelines.
