Summary of Job Duties The General Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for performing quality ultrasound images for medical interpretation within the UAMS hospital and Radiology department. The sonographer will perform a wide variety of ultrasound studies in collaboration with the ordering provider and reading Radiologists' requests.

This position requires rotational after‑hour/weekend and holiday call coverage. The sonographer will work closely with Radiologists in order to provide needed information to make an accurate diagnosis. The sonographer will assist physicians in procedures such as renal biopsies, sonohysterograms, and Lumason enhancement studies. The sonographer will join alongside the academic achievement of students, residents, and fellows.

Must be registered or a registry‑eligible graduate of an accredited DMS ultrasound school. Abdomen and OB registries are required within a set time from date of hire.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED PLUS Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program

Registered Diagnostic Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Performs a wide variety of ultrasound studies in collaboration with the ordering provider and reading Radiologists' requests.

Compensation Salary Information: Commensurate with education and experience.
