The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic gynecologic surgeon to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview: This is an exciting opportunity to expand the Department’s gynecologic services in a newly opening multidisciplinary outpatient office with an attached surgical center. Ideal candidates are board-certified or eligible physicians with fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery or equivalent experience who are interested in resident surgical education and direct patient care in an academic center. The Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University is a state-of-the-art tertiary care center with the planned opening of a new hospital facility in 2025. The Ohio State University College of Medicine graduates approximately 200 medical students per year. The Ob/Gyn residency program is integrated with the Mount Carmel Medical System and trains 11 residents per year. Duties And Responsibilities

Members of the General Division supervise resident continuity clinics, the gynecology teaching service, and provide in-hospital gynecologic consultation. Additionally, they have an active role in medical student education. The current faculty includes two specialists in minimally invasive surgery. Other expertise includes family planning, vulvar disease, menopause, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and breastfeeding. Requirements

MD or DO or equivalent Successful completion of an accredited residency training program required Current registration with DEA Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology Subspecialty fellowship in Surgical Critical Care Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio Faculty Defined

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study.
