Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic gynecologic surgeon to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience. This is an opportunity to expand the Department’s gynecologic services in a newly opening multidisciplinary outpatient office with an attached surgical center. Ideal candidates are board-certified or eligible physicians with fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery or equivalent experience who are interested in resident surgical education and direct patient care in an academic center. The Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University is a state-of-the-art tertiary care center with a planned new hospital facility opening in 2025. The Ohio State University College of Medicine graduates approximately 200 medical students per year. The Ob/Gyn residency program is integrated with the Mount Carmel Medical System and trains 11 residents per year. The metropolitan area is a growing community that houses the state capital. Duties And Responsibilities
Supervise resident continuity clinics and the gynecology teaching service. Provide in-hospital gynecologic consultation. Participate in medical student education. Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the program in minimally invasive surgery, resident education, and clinical care. Requirements
MD or DO or equivalent Successful completion of an accredited residency training program Current registration with DEA Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology Subspecialty fellowship in Surgical Critical Care Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio Faculty Defined
Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles such as assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. They are primarily focused on delivery of clinical care and may include teaching and/or research; tenure is not applicable. Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles such as assistant professor, associate professor, or professor eligible for or with tenure. Their primary focus is on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track clinicians may also be involved in clinical care. Research Faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles such as research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. They focus on research and are not typically tenure-track.
