Job Summary Summary of Job Duties:
Instructor for Full Time Health Professions for the Hope Secondary Career Center. Faculty shall report to the Health Professions Dean, Dean of Secondary Programs, and the Vice Chancellor for Academics and have the duties listed below.
To be concerned with all things involving teaching and student learning and to provide instruction in accordance with the stated philosophy and objectives of the College and with approved course outlines.
To provide assessment of student learning and use this assessment to improve instruction.
To acquaint students with course requirements, including grade determination, during the first week of class and provide periodic evaluations of progress.
To meet classes as scheduled; follow syllabi; attend faculty, committee, and division meetings.
To prepare thoroughly for each class period and display professional conduct.
To hold ten office hours per week for student consultation and publish hours clearly.
To serve as an advisor to students majoring in the instructor’s teaching discipline or assigned area.
To maintain accurate class rolls and attendance records and submit reports as required.
To emphasize prompt and regular attendance across classes.
To submit names of students needing scholastic or personal counseling as appropriate.
To prepare and submit grades at the close of each grading period.
To accept registration duty assignments and submit curriculum changes or new curriculum for review.
To recommend textbook changes in consultation with the dean.
To serve as faculty advisor or sponsor to student organizations when requested.
To report irregularities or problems concerning instruction to the dean or Vice Chancellor for Academics.
To participate in commencement exercises unless excused.
To maintain current credentials on file with the Vice Chancellor for Academics and HR.
To abide by regulations in the Policies and Procedures Manual.
To participate in professional activities to stay current in the discipline.
To assume special duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academics or designee.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse. Associate Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree. Previous teaching experience is preferred.
Additional Information
Salary Information:
Base $35,800.00. Commensurate with education and experience.
